Found kittens? Don’t panic!
Chances are the mother cat is nearby and has just left to find food.

Follow these steps to determine if the kittens need your help or not:

  • Do the kittens appear to be sick or injured?
  • Is the mother cat around? Does she return after a few hours?
    • Sprinkle some flour around the kittens in a wide circle for an easy way to tell if the momma is around! If there’s footprints, she’s hanging around!
  • If the kittens are healthy looking, and you see signs of the mother cat, leave them be! If you wish to help, provide an area for shelter as well as clean water and a small amount of food.
  • If they appear to be sick, injured, or there’s no sign of mom after a good length of time, contact the Price County Humane officer at 715-339-3011 or us here at Catkins at 715-762-0122 for help.
