Please, we repeat, PLEASE do not remove orphan kittens from mom!

We received our first litter this afternoon and their bellies were full, their coats were clean and mom had been doing her job well; and now she can’t.

A mother cat can do a better job of caring for her kittens than even the most dedicated foster. Their best chance of survival is to stay with mom.

If you find newborn kittens, please evaluate the situation before taking action. Save this flowchart to your phone or call shelter staff if you have questions.
